A super easy afternoon snack for the kids that's not only healthy but also a little bit more exciting than a plain ol' banana. Plus, it's great for those warmer summer afternoons. You can use any of the Melita Honey Chocolate Pastes drizzled over the top - our personal favourite is the hazelnut.
Have fun making this one!
Serves 10
Time 3 hours
-----------------------------------------------
Ingredients
5 large bananas
4tbs Melita Honey Chocolate Paste
Melita Bee Pollen Granules
-----------------------------------------------
Method
1. Slice your peeled bananas in half, cutting the in the middle evenly. This will create even sized pops. Once halved, insert a popsicle stick (or 2 skewers cut to around 8cm in length), and place on a sheet of parchment paper in the freezer for approximately 2.5 hours.
2. Remove from the freezer once frozen and heat up the honey chocolate paste by sitting it in a bowl of warm water or the microwave at 20 second intervals until just warm and smooth enough to be drizzled.
3. With a spoon, drizzle the honey over the frozen banana pops, creating even lines over each. Sprinkle over your multivitamin bee pollen granules and enjoy!
Tip: sprinkle the bee pollen over each pop immediately after drizzling the warm honey to ensure they stick, and place back into the freezer for another 5 minutes to create a “hardened” layer of honey chocolate paste - like a magnum!
